By far not the most known here, I'm not the funniest, I don't reseach the new JW stuff or have much to say. But, I'm reading this all the time. I write when I think I have something to say. I freek out on this site from time to time. I have not made any -one on one- friends and hardly ever get an e-mail. I bet this site has done more then it even is aware. I read stories that some times makes me cry but i don't write anything cuz someone else said it. I hope for those that just read and don't write, that you know you are not alone and we all care that you heal. I want to feel part of this group, but I'm happy just watching for now.

It comes and goes for me. Just a week ago I freeked because I was shunned by someone I didn't think would do that. I DA myself and that did help a bit. I always felt "watched" like someone was just waiting for me to do something so could once and forall DF me. I'd say the percentage of my thoughts is dwindleing. It used to be almost 100% and now only 10% It's been 2 1/2 years. But I could still and do cry that I lost my brother to it.

Don't Ignore Us!
by peacefulpete inwhen i first left the jw's some years ago, one of the most incredible observations i made was just how irrelevant the wt and jw's were to the larger public.
when the conversation turned to my history (as it often did, because i desperately wanted to discuss it) the most comon reaction was of complete unawareness of the jw's, much less their doctrine, or complete surprise that i regarded them as destructive.
to the later, the jw's were understood to be just another church like any other, a little weird perhaps but just one of the many churches in town.

I had that same light go on in my head a few years ago. I work in Roanoke VA and when the JW's had there convention (1st one i didn't go to) I thought it would be a big deal. I thought I would see JW's everywhere. I didn't see ONE. the convention came and went and not one person mentioned them. THey create a world in which they are big, but when you step back it's only there reality.

What emotions have you been coping with?
by mochamint22 ini wanted to dedicate this posts to just talking about the emotional scars we all have had or maybe still have.
was there a gap of time between you thinking you didn't want to continue and actually, consciously, deciding to no longer continue as on of jws?
it's amazing to me the strong hold this religion puts on you.

ex-special pioneer
by ex-Special Pioneer inhi to all, i have been on this site some years ago and have contributed articles exposing the hypocrisy of this organization.
i was brought up as a jws.
served as an elder and special pioneer attended the ministerial training school been an instructor of the pioneer school till disassociating myself from the borg in 1994.. being an active jws is not an easy life and involves all your time, hardly you have time for yourself.

why is it reminding me of something and why does it give me shivers?:.

JW's turned up to see if I celebrated xmas
by MMXIV inhad a surprise visit from some jw relatives over xmas.
they had never visited before, had never been invited, were travelling out of their way and despite having planned to "stop by" gave no advanced warning such as a phone call even a few minutes ahead of time to see if it was convenient.
they stood at the door apologising for not phoning in advance but offered no reason other than that they'd decided not to call.. when invited in they had little to say (perhaps disappointed??).
